Turnover in trade fell by 2.0 per cent in March 2024

Turnover in retail trade of cultural and recreation goods declining

Among the industries of trade, working day adjusted turnover in motor vehicle trade increased by 5.5 per cent in March year-on-year. The working day adjusted volume of sales in motor vehicle trade grew by 5.1 per cent from March 2023.

Working day adjusted turnover in the trade industry with the biggest turnover, wholesale trade, decreased in March by 5.2 per cent and sales volume by 5.1 per cent year-on-year.

In retail trade, working day adjusted turnover went down by 0.4 per cent and sales volume by 0.2 per cent in March. Turnover in retail trade of cultural and recreation goods fell by 0.6 per cent and sales volume by 1.0 per cent in March from the year before.

Seasonally adjusted turnover decreased compared to February

Seasonally adjusted turnover in total trade fell in March by 0.2 per cent compared to February. Seasonally adjusted sales volume remained on level with the previous month. In February, seasonally adjusted turnover also decreased by 0.2 per cent and sales volume by 0.1 per cent from one month back.
